What is the SNAP challenge?
The SNAP Challenge is a chance for participants to experience what life is like for millions of low-income Americans who have a food budget of $4.01 a day for meals. The challenge will take place during Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week November 18-22.
Several legislators, CEOs of large companies such as Panera, and non-profits such as Feeding America, have participated in a SNAP Challenge. Think you can handle the challenge? Register now! Read the blog to learn about other participant's awareness journey. |
Our goal is to raise awareness for the SNAP program and give participants an idea of what life can be like for millions of low income Americans. You will be forced to make food shopping choices on a limited budget, and may find how difficult it is to avoid hunger, afford nutritious foods and stay healthy.
Experience the daily struggles of living off a SNAP budget. Post your experience on twitter, facebook, or your personal blog. Learn more about the SNAP program. Advocate for federal nutrition programs. Use the #CofCSNAPChallenge to share your experience via social media |
